Todd English Food Hall

Is it a food court? Is it a buffet? No! It’s a food hall – a concept entirely new to Manila (not to mention their first celebrity set-up) from the famous Boston-based chef Todd English. Billed as a communal dining experience, the 900-sq-m stage is set with nine curated and theatrically cheffed food stations, lining the space much like the New York flagship. Here’s our rundown of the lineup… warning: more than one sitting advised!

The Cheese & Charcuterie station is decorating boards with salty tidbits of aged gouda, taleggio, speck, and pata negra; handmade pork, chicken, and shrimp dumplings are coming thick and fast from the Noodle & Dumpling Bar; and the Sushi Bar is plating up eye-wateringly pretty tuna tartare with crispy marmalade shrimp. At the sizzling Taqueria you’ll find mini tortillas covered with steak, pear salsa and cilantro cream; while the Pizza stall’s flatbreads come fresh from the oven with fig jam, gorgonzola, prosciutto and rosemary toppings; and set against a rainbow of handcrafted pasta strands drying on wooden rails, the marble-topped Pasta Bar turns out goat’s cheese ravioli and Brooklyn-style spaghetti polpetini. The elegant Wine Bar is pouring Old and New World wines by the glass – perfect for a post-work perch and nibble; or if you must dash, there’s a Patisserie complete with cute cupcake ferris wheel, and a store selling gourmet NYC imports, including Todd’s signature herb mixes to spice up your own kitchen!
