Scribe Writing Essentials

An email or text may take mere seconds to compose and send, but there is still no substitute for the style and impact of a handwritten message. Perhaps with that in mind, it seems the Philippines is staging something of a penmanship Renaissance in capital city Manila, with no less than 5 branches of charming correspondence accessories retailer Scribe Writing Essentials currently in operation with business booming. And their success is hardly surprising when you take, ahem, note of their covetable cache of accoutrements from stationery, journals and diaries, to calligraphy pens, quills and top-of-the-range inks.

Peter Pauper’s colourful notecards dress up any thank you message or holiday greeting, while Scribe’s smart own-brand journals are perfect for scrawling your daily musings. When the time comes to make your mark, there are few better instruments to employ than Sailor Professional’s Realo Series fountain pens, complete with a 21k gold nib and accents, and dipping inks and cartridges by the world’s oldest ink production company, J. Herbin, established in 1670. But for wordsmiths to whom calligraphy is nothing short of an art form, there’s no going past Scribe’s antique pewter quill sets finished with embossed stem and flourishing black feather, plus they can even whip you up a customised wax seal to complete the refined picture.
