Breast Cancer Awareness Month

There’s a real risk Manila may run out of pink, as the colour has totally relocated to The Peninsula hotel. With a swathe of pink-inspired art, food, room and spa offerings, this October, supporting The Philippine Foundation for Breast Care, Inc., it’s a vibrant way of honouring Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Pink greets you from the get-go, with The Peninsula’s fountain, entrances and guardian door lions illuminated in pink on October evenings. A collaboration with avant-garde artist Chen Man sees four of her bold ‘12 Chinese colours’ photos of women – entitled ‘Rouge’ ‘Red’, ‘Cyanine’ and Vermillion’ – on show in The Lobby, to be auctioned off during October for charity.

Start with a drink: a ‘Pinktini’ cocktail, ‘Pinki-Li-Cious’ mocktail, or ‘Pink Flamingo Ice Tea’. Indulge with an ‘Art of Pink Peninsula Afternoon Tea’, including rose-tinted sweet and savoury treats on a pretty tiered platter. A ‘Pink Afternoon Tea’ paired with rosé champers might also tickle your palate. Pink pastries are up for grabs in the boutique, as well as pink desserts at all the hotel’s restaurants.

Things are just as hedonistic in the spa, where the 45-minute ‘Pink Glow Chocolate Body Scrub’ ticks all our boxes (thanks, silky cacao!). Part of the proceeds boosts the charity’s coffers. Or go the whole hog with a ‘Pink Staycation’ package. Think pink!
