Tang Tang Tang Tang

Sir David Tang (better known as the founder and former owner of classic HK luxury brand Shanghai Tang) launched last December his new lifestyle label Tang Tang Tang Tang (TTTT) in a historic structure that once housed a pawn shop in Wan Chai. His new retail venture, whose name is intended to be sung to the opening melody of Beethoven’s world-famous Symphony No. 5, mirrors more a trendy, young professional’s apartment than a conventional brick and mortar with endless shelves and racks – a choice made so customers may better envision how Sir Tang’s pieces would blend into their own stylish abodes.

With that said, his offering of more than 170 retro-colonial Hong Kong-style designs for everything you need for the home – glistening clawfoot tubs and splash-proof bluetooth speakers for the bathroom; crystal lampshades and quilted linens for the bedroom; plush armchairs for the sitting room; large crystal tumblers and horizontal toasters for the dining room; and rails of women’s silk dresses and cream suit jackets for the dressing room – are seamlessly set up in a believable, home-like layout. Add a selection of travel accessories, from umbrellas with drawings of insects, to napa leather wash bags, to cube-patterned suitcases for the chic jetsetters, and you’ve got this Tang-talising all-in-one shop!
