A Month's Worth of Dining Deals

November 15, 2012
2nd Annual Festival of Restaurants

A thriving, global city where old meets new and good food reigns supreme, Hong Kong heralds its age-old eating traditions with the same enthusiasm that it embraces new ones. It’s where the moon cake-laden festival of Mid-Autumn, which dates back thousands of years, shares the stage with the fledgling Festival of Restaurants, a Tourism Board-sponsored culinary celebration now in its second outing.

Making the most of the city’s status as a serious foodie destination for cosmopolitan cuisine, the festival seeks to provide the perfect taste-test for restaurant-goers by organising great value dining deals at 57 participating restaurants, running now until the 25th of November.

Following the ‘Restaurant Week’ style of prix-fixe set lunches and dinners, the festival offers a great chance to explore the city’s new eateries and to rediscover old favourites. For Chinese food, there’s Zhejiang flavour at Jardin de Jade, contemporary Shanghainese at Shanghai Lo, Michelin-starred Cantonese cuisine at Yue, and molecular focus at Bo Innovation.

Beyond the border, New York supper club-style Bloom, Nordic-influenced FINDS, and sushi haven Taku are must-gos. And last but certainly not least, noise-making newcomers Blue Butcher and Salted Pig will attract meat-lovers in search of whole Wagyu rib-eye and slow-cooked roasted pork loin. Book early!
