Rider For Life
Rider For Life is an achingly hip new West Loop emporium for all things covetable, collectible and curious, including on-trend clothing, new and revamped furniture, art, accessories, apothecary items and more. Aiming to ‘walk the line between grit and elegance’, owners Lauren McGrady and Tom Gavin take inspiration from their travels and refuse to be confined by the usual boundaries of luxury or fashion.
Set in Chicago’s West Loop, amid restaurants and tech firms, Rider signals the neighbourhood’s increasingly hot shopping credentials. Fashion grad McGrady and Gavin both have a track record in indie menswear (Apartment Number 9 and Haberdash respectively), but you’ll find both guy’s and gal’s clothing here, plus shoes, sunnies and accessories. But wait, there’s more! Interiors booty includes Thonet chairs, vintage Fifties bent-chrome recliners, retro lighting and Moroccan rugs.
Plus easily portable items include soaps, leather journals, cards, Fine + Candy stationery, costume and contempo jewellery, and vibrant curvy glass carafes by Anna Karlin, as well as arty chocolate bars and graphic biscuits. Prints, paintings and ceramics are also in the mix.
The spacious, white-walled boutique has an industrial-chic feel, but there are styles to suit everyone at this cool concept store. Whether you're looking to find a great gift or drop a few grand on a seductive, rare-find sofa, you won’t be leaving this retail diamond empty-handed.
