It’s All In The Details

April 17, 2014
Katrin Schnabl

In the highly competitive world of women’s fashion, designs that stand out from the crowd while remaining wearable and functional tend to represent the holy grail of appeal and success – so remember the name Katrin Schnabl, as her stunning collections hit right on the mark for both comfort and style. If the name already rings a bell, there’s a good reason why: German-native Schnabl is a former dancer and performance artist, so when it comes to understanding a woman’s physical form and movement, there isn’t much this gal doesn’t know.

Taking dramatic and theatrical inspiration from her performing background, and following a stint with Jil Sander as well as design experience from her own Miche Kimsa label, Schnabl launched her eponymous collection in 2012 with a firm focus on fluid, feminine shapes, luxurious fabrics, and exquisite details. Two years on, the Spring 2014 collection is looking as show-stopping as ever with relaxed, funnel neck shifts, billowy draped and trained crepe de chine dresses, sharply-tailored, boldly-hued suiting, peekaboo chiffon and chainmail inserts, caped tunics, and McQueen-esque structured jackets. Needless to say, the covetable range has landed the brand smack bang in the limelight, with coverage in Prestige, Essence, Fantastics and Bella NYC magazines. The moral? Get in quick to beat the imminent fashionista stampede.
