When you’re bored of fashion, you’re bored of life… But there’s no risk of fashion-fatigue at fledgling hyper-cool LA-local brand Staud, which delivers a modern take on vintage classics that’s as fresh as it is feisty. Tipped as one of the hottest womenswear names of 2017, their appointment-only studio is now letting devotees take an exclusive sneak peek at their covetable looks. Brit ‘It’ girl Alexa Chung is a big fan – need we say more?
Founded in 2015 by Sarah Staudinger and George Augusto, the LA-designed and manufactured label aims to be timeless and accessible. Staud’s jumpsuit game is strong, with sassy girly-glam offerings from the pretty-in-pink ‘Sandro’ (fitted bodice and flares) to the plush, velvet ‘Lappo’ (sporting a collar, long sleeves, zip front and pockets), available in Midnight blue or Bordeaux red. Chinese PJ-inspired styles are also perfect for going out or staying in, in satin-crepe pastels with Sino fastenings; pair the ‘Corso’ top with the ‘Pietro’ culotte for the full Monty. If sky-blue and baby-pink aren’t your speed, opt for go-anywhere black.
Delicious dresses abound, from racy body-con numbers to loose, laid-back frocks for easy elegance. Work a Fifties look in the high-waisted ‘Domenico’ pencil skirt or go retro-romantic with the flared, tulle midi ‘Vito’ skirt with gathered ruffles. Tomboys will love the ‘Gino’ hoodie. Accessories are on point too, with a fab selection of user-friendly bags and brooches.
