Rooftop Cinema Club
Love movies? And rooftop bars? Then why not combine cult, contempo-classic and new-release films with a lofty location at LA’s luxey Rooftop Cinema Club? Flicks plus booze and vibey panoramas equals fun…
Enjoy a third season of sussed screenings on The Montalbán's rooftop, with free-flowing bubbles, snax and ace city views. Expect cult crowd-pleasers such as Blade Runner, Donnie Darko and Back to the Future as well as newbies including Oscar-winning Moonlight.
Guests can graze on Heritage LA’s tasty street food and ice-cool cocktails from 6pm, when the rooftop bar opens, before the hand-picked films start after sunset from 8pm to around 11pm. Grab a deck chair and settle in (adjustable seat heights, blankets and plenty of legroom ensure a comfy cocoon). As the stars begin to sparkle, you can savour every line of dialogue thanks to state-of-the-art wireless headphones, even if the guy behind you is crunching crisps. Rooftop Love Seats can be bought in pairs for a date night, and include bottomless popcorn and a glass of bubbles.
Tickets to popular films are selling out fast, so seek out quirkier, indie features this April, including high-school flick The Edge of Seventeen, Texan ranch drama Hell or High Water, Gimme Danger, an in-depth look at Iggy Pop and punk band The Stooges starring Ewan McGregor, and quirky Kiwi hit Hunt for the Wilderpeople. Take your experience up a level…
Until 31 May, 2017.
