Ah, Hollywood! What she doesn’t know about entertainment frankly isn’t worth knowing. From movies to music and everything that falls in between, her stars just seem to sparkle that little bit brighter.
And nowhere is this truer, than when they twinkle high in the night’s sky above the iconic arch of the Hollywood Bowl, the spiritual home of the Los Angeles Philharmonic and host, every year, to an impressive programme of musical performances. Read on to discover some of this summer’s spectacular highlights…
Kicking off proceedings on 20 June in suitably stadium rock-style is Opening Night with Journey, which will undoubtedly get the smartphone torches skywards ahead of a phenomenal fireworks display. And there will be more pyrotechnics from 2-4 July at the July 4th Fireworks Display with Smokey Robinson, celebrating the independence of the US of A.
Meanwhile, other standout sessions include a rave-tastic set from electro dance gods Underworld, with support from breakthrough modern-soul collective Jungle on 21 June; a night of New Orleans jazz classics from none other than Harry Connick Jr on 10 July; and singer-songwriters David Gray & Amos Lee taking to the stage on 17 July. Meanwhile, classical aficionados can get their fix every Tuesday with an incredible line-up of appearances from the Los Angeles Philharmonic. It’s time to face the music!
Until Sep, 2015.
