Beverly Hills'Affaire in the Gardens' Art Show

When one thinks ‘global art destination’, admittedly Beverly Hills isn’t the first name that springs to mind, but though it may not be Basel, the Beverly Hills ‘Affaire in the Gardens’ Art Show never fails to draw the crowds from the surrounding stately homes and well beyond.

And here’s why. More than 250 artists from across the country descend on Beverly Gardens Park for the twice annually-held, free to the public event, set to be staged once again this fall from Oct 21-22. With a history spanning almost 40 years, the outdoor showcase includes paintings, photographic art and prints, as well as sculpture, ceramics, glass and multi-media pieces, but with one key difference – the artists must attend the show in order to discuss their work with buyers.

Previous exhibitors have included oil specialist John Kilduff, photographer Martin J. Waterman, impasto animationist Eul Hurley and contemporary artist Leah Devora.

The interactive program also features live art demonstrations, Fine Art Commission-led walking tours of the grounds, and musical performances, as well as kids’ arts and crafts stations like pottery throwing, sand art and painting.

When hunger strikes, there’s a cluster of local gourmet food stalls including George’s Greek Truck and Sprinkles Cupcakes, plus wine and fine beer gardens for mum and dad. So whether you’re an avid art-lover or just looking for a fun day out with the family, this is one Affaire to remember.
