Style Platform

Achingly hip new Culver City retail and resto space Platform on Washington Boulevard offers oodles of space for shopping and socialising. It’s home to innovative new-in-town merchants, fashion, art and culinary talents, housed in a cluster of three-storey buildings in the former industrial Hayden Tract.

Eyewear enthusiasts can wrap their peepers round luxey London optical designer Linda Farrow’s first US store, offering sexy own-line sunnies plus cool collaborations with Dries van Noten, Oscar de la Renta, 3.1 Phillip Lim and The Row. Or for cult skin, hair and body care, head to Melbourne-born apothecary Aesop, famous for creating raw, beautiful stores in tandem with local designers. Their travel and gift packs are the bizz.

LA-born bison leather accessories label Parabellum has opened a tightly edited concept store, perfect for picking up handbags, man bags, belts and wallets. Meanwhile, men's streetwear store Kilter sports activewear, tees, hoodies and trackie bottoms; and Magasin stocks more preppy Nippon-Italian shirts, jackets and shoes. Former Bloomingdale’s Fashion Director Josh Peskowitz curates its under-the-radar looks from Massimo Alba, Engineered Garments and Feit.

Nest-featherers will love Tom Dixon x Curve, an interiors-meets-womenswear flagship including lighting and furniture by the famed Brit design star and fashion by Nevena Borissova’s lifestyle multilabel. It’s Dixon’s first US store, with a cafe serving English tea and light bites.

Finish your spree with snacks at mod taco cutie Loqui (viva Baja California!), or beer-and-butcher-focussed The Cannibal, home to an airy patio.
