Hot New Stores on Melrose
Calling all shopaholics! Fab new openings on Melrose Avenue are just another reason to revisit LA’s iconic retail strip. From a fragrance emporium to a fashion brand and an exclusive shopping treat, here’s a round-up of the latest launches.
Sniff the air at Parisian perfumer The Harmonist’s first US flagship, where yin-inspired fragrances are housed in black spheres, with yang-influenced ones in white orbs. This elegant monochrome boutique offers 10 signature scents, each combining feng shui elements of water, wood, fire, earth and metal (research your personal elements on iPads), plus ethical scented candles. Green malachite counters, a Murano glass chandelier and a hanging garden of terrariums add a stylish touch.
On the fashion front, London-born label Frame rocks into town with its effortlessly chic essentials and celeb-favoured denims. The paired-back Euro-meets-Cali decor – all graphic furniture, minimal dark-wood shelves, luscious grainy brown marble and Redwood ceilings – will inspire you, as will the exclusive releases, including Le Crop Flare de Francoise white pants and retro overalls. Outsize coastal photos and a toasty fireplace beckon you inside.
For a members-only shopping experience, trot up to multilevel mod Revolve Social Club, where the online brand pitches to its glam girl following. Perks include personalised private shopping, drawing on Revolve’s expert stylists, pop-up shopping sessions, parties, brunches and roof garden evening bashes. Email the boutique (firstname.lastname@example.org) if you want to access all areas.
