Los Angeles Food & Wine Festival
Angelenos are known for their dazzling pearly whites and having Hollywood cradled in the palm of their Argan oil-softened hands. They are also becoming increasingly envied for their deliciously diverse dining scene, something that is celebrated at the annual Los Angeles Food & Wine Festival.
This four-day epicurean event showcases the best that the city’s culinary culture has to offer, as well as featuring renowned gastronomists from across the country, all set to a sultry soul n’ hip-hop soundtrack.
Happening highlights include, the opening night’s main occurrence, ‘Lexus presents Ultimate Bites of LA hosted by Ozzie celeb chef Curtis Stone’, which brings together some of the top toques from Downtown, Westside, Hollywood and Beverly Hills for a walkabout tasting, plus music from DJ Questlove.
Friday sees two of the hottest saucerers in the States – Neal Fraser from DTLA’s much lauded newcomer Redbird and Markus Glocker, the man behind James Beard Awards’ 2015 Best New Restaurant, NYC’s Bâtard – combine for a not-to-be-missed lunch at the former’s eatelier.
Saturday night’s entertainment comes courtesy of Jimmy Fallon’s house band, The Roots, who promise to rock the flavour fiesta’s apex affair; a tasty takeover of Grand Avenue complete with 30 pan-handlers peddling their best street eats, plus top drops from 100 wineries. Get ready to stretch those leggings, lovelies.
