It first took New York by storm, moved west to Las Vegas and then south to Mexico, but now über-exclusive nightclub 1 OAK (short for One of a Kind) has flung open its fourth set of bouncer-guarded doors in Hollywood – in the form of a celeb-studded, cavernous, multi-story party palace, no less. Occupying the former Key Club, 1 OAK L.A. is now installed with artwork by NYC-based Israeli artist Roy Nachum (whose various pieces span giant oil paintings, sculptures, and light installations), although admittedly it may be difficult to divert your attention from the space’s endless other visual and aural delights.
Before cutting a rug on one of the monochrome chevron dance floors in this tri-level, 9,500 sq ft boite, head over to the full marble bars for your go-to cocktail, or if the night calls for something extra special, sample one of the top shelf champagnes like the rare Louis Roederer Cristal (in a 24k gold Jeroboam bottle), or an Ace of Spades Brut Rosé (in a giant Nebuchadnezzar jar), both delivered to your table with obligatory sparklers. Combine with 1,000+ pulsating motorised lights and resident DJs spinning the latest electro beats, and get ready for a shimmy shindig.
