Swoon! Fab retailvana 10 Corso Como has finally arrived in Beijing. Founded 25 years ago by fashion and art maestro Carla Sozzani, Milan’s 10 Corso Como is famed for being the first multibrand boutique: its directional labels and Sozzani’s expertly curated collections sitting amid designer furniture, a bookshop and cafe. With outposts in Tokyo, Seoul and Shanghai it was only a matter of time before the visionary store-slash-gallery came to China’s capital.
Imagined by American artist Kris Ruhs, 10 Corso Como in Shin Kong Place occupies an impressive 1,100 square metres, with pearlescent lilac floors, vivid installations and funky furniture backdropping Sozzani’s cache of Azzedine Alaia, Maison Martin Margiela and ONETSHIRT. Alongside the trendsetting threads are lustworthy interiors objects from the likes of Tom Dixon, and an enviable stash of coffee-table books such as Little Red Riding Hood, Maripol’s visual memoir of fashion and music in 1980s New York.
As every girl knows, shopping is hungry work, but thankfully there’s a patisserie, bar and Italian restaurant for refuelling mid spree. And, should you make it to 10 Corso Como before the end of April, Michelin-starred chef Corrado Michelazzi is cooking up a storm with a series of themed dinners. Food, fashion and art all in one – Grazie, Sozzani!
