Pitch Perfect

May 30, 2013
Pitch Design

With a background in freelance jewellery design for local and international brands, Pitchaya Srirapong was already a deft hand by the time she joined forces with agent Ann Kositchana of Singapore’s Front Row Studio to launch her namesake jewellery brand Pitch in 2010.

Having honed her signature style and taken inspiration from labels like Maison Martin Margiela along with her own world travels, Srirapong brought her ‘simple and chic’ philosophy and meticulously crafted designs to market, and was within a year the recipient of prestigious gongs including the Japan Institute of Design Promotion’s Good Design Award 2011.

With a strong shot of self-confidence and an already burgeoning fanbase, the glamorous designer took a more elaborate turn with her latest collection, named Hello, I Miss You. Where her previous work incorporated watch movements in rings and pendants, pyramid studs and fairly pared-back settings, the HIMY range brings romantic war-time trinkets like medals and crest-embossed buttons to the fore to create statement necklaces, tasseled bracelets, rings and key chains for ladies, and chunky ID bracelets and signet rings for men.

Though the pieces certainly evoke a nostalgic daydream wander through the past, they also firmly assert Srirapong’s place at the forefront of Thai jewellery design – right where she should be.
