Bite-sized Bo.lan
Less than a year after moving their innovative Thai tryster Bo.lan into a sustainable new digs in Sukhumvit – with results both stylish and sumptuous – tireless culinary duo Duangporn ‘Bo’ Songvisava and Dylan Jones have welcomed a new addition to their foodie fam in the form of Err.

Sitting pared-back and pretty in a riverside Rattanakosin shophouse, the recent arrival serves up tasty Siam bites that tone down the Bo.lan fancy-factor, while maintaining a focus on seasonal, local ingredients.

If you want to get into the slow-food mood before you arrive, float over by boat to the Wat Pho pier (your concierge at The Peninsula can arrange a ride), then wander through the side streets to find this cosy bare-brick bistro-bar.

Settle in on one of the banquettes and start selecting from the list of pickings that feature simple regional faves like garlic and sticky rice cured pork (neam), charcoal-grilled chicken satay skewers, and clay-pot mussels with glass noodles and black bean sauce.

Of course, such sups need a quaffable accompaniment, and you’ll find plenty of tempting tipples, ranging from Thai beers, top drops to the Flower Market Number One with rum, pink guava and mint, and the banana coffee Waan Noi. Or, if you feel like a bit of post-prandial merriment, ‘Err’ not on the side of moderation – indulge in some Thai-style shots. Mr Pop Corn, anyone?
