Out With The Old, In With The Brew

The Beer Bridge
Fans of down-to-earth fusion concept Line Up were sad to say goodbye to the always buzzing favourite, but thankfully, solace was not far behind. Only last month the same spot reopened its doors as The Beer Bridge, a bright-lit, shiny bistro with noted chef Chalee Kader (formerly of French diner Surface) working the pass and a stellar bevvy of craft beers lining the bar.
The venue has been lovingly revamped with the modern hipster in mind, to reveal an airy, Brooklyn-esque space of exposed bulbs, black and white chequered floors, exposed red brick walls and tan leather banquettes. Meanwhile, the sizeable stash of over 100 brews imported from around the world, such as Italy’s Birra Roma Bionda, a raspberry-tinged lambic by Belgian Brouwerij de Troch, and an Anderson Valley Boont Amber Ale from California, will also keep the bearded and bespectacled types happy. And to perfectly complement the libations, Kader cooks up bar bites like garlic- and chili-rolled fried Yunnan tofu, or lamb meatballs in sofrito sauce, as well as larger share plates like tartufo pizza with truffle shavings, and king prawn pappardelle with portobello mushrooms. Just be prepared to Line Up for this fabulous new hop-spot!
