B&B Italia
It’s safe to say that when a design company has been going strong since the sixties and is still under family management despite a corporate-skewed society, you can expect quality and cutting edge creations – this much can certainly be said for leading Italian furniture design company B&B Italia. Add to that a cluster of prestigious awards (the Compasso d’Oro) and a glossy portfolio of stores across the globe from Seattle to Seoul, and you’ve got a company that will be sticking around for a good few years to come as well. But like all successful brands, B&B is looking to enlarge its Asian footprint, and where better to start than style capital Bangkok?

B&B’s gloriously expansive flagship on the tree-fringed Mahaprutharam Road, constructed from stacked box structures, is characterised by towering ceilings and floor-to-ceiling windows that lend light to the label’s sleek furnishings. The first floor is home to their funky mid-century-inspired eponymous brand (think cleverly interconnecting low tables in wood and glass, bronze globular space-age lighting and glossy gold-glazed vases) alongside kitchen and bathroom samples from Boffi. Meanwhile, upstairs there’s more space for luxurious displays from Maxalto, a sister brand envisioned by Antonio Citterio that leans towards mod-minimalism and neutral hues (like vast, inviting charcoal grey L-shaped sofas and high-backed armchairs in soft earthy tones). Delizioso!
