Haute and Happening Global Fashion Event
Fashion’s Night Out
Vogue Magazine’s celebration of all things stylish, Fashion’s Night Out, debuted in New York City in 2008, and has since grown to become the world’s largest shopping event, taking place annually across all of the 19 Vogue markets. On September 8th, Vogue Japan will host its fourth FNO event in Tokyo, and as in previous years the associated activities will take place in and around fashion hubs Harajuku, Aoyama and Omotesando. The opening ceremony will be held in the luxurious Omotesando Hills shopping complex, attended by US Vogue editor Anna Wintour, FNO Ambassadors Tsuchiya Anna and Ai Tominaga, and emceed by actor and model Christopher Daniel Peppler.
In the surrounding areas, 460 retailers ranging from international super-brands to local stars like Tsumori Chisato and Bape will join the fun, offering exhibitions, installations, limited edition products, promotions and parties, but it’s not all hedonistic glamour. Participating stores will also sell limited edition FNO merchandise for charity, with proceeds benefiting local organisation Kokkyo Naki Kodomotachi helping children affected by the 2011 tsunami that devastated eastern Japan. The joy of FNO is you don’t need an invitation, just stroll along and discover, but be sure to beeline to nearby late-nighter Le Baron post-retail to rub shoulders with the city’s chic-set. High fashion, stylish celebrities galore and a side-dish of charity – seriously, what’s not to love about FNO?
