Akane Tanaka's BA in French Literature and sixteen years of experience in front-line, international guest relations seem a natural extension of the fact that she was born in Kobe, a cosmopolitan port city with a long history of overseas trade. From the Front Office of Hotel Okura Kobe, she went on to work at the hotel's Amsterdam property for seven years, then returned to Japan in 2001 to work at two Tokyo hotels before accepting the position of Chief Concierge with The Peninsula Tokyo. She is Treasurer for Les Clefs d'Or Japan.
