Dessert alert! Throughout February, The Lobby
is serving a weekend three-course dinner plus the signature Dessert Buffet every Friday and Saturday, from 7:00 pm to 11:00 pm. Dessert connoisseurs will discover plenty to tease the palate, from chocolate and banana cake to mocha coffee choux buns and Valrhona Manjari mousse.
Sweet-toothed diners can even skip dinner and go straight to the dessert selection. The Lobby’s resident jazz band Moon Dance will provide sweet harmonies.
Another highlight of the Dessert Buffet is Chef Lisa’s signature Strawberry Roll, which is baked according to her own secret recipe. Each roll is prepared by using one kilogramme of fresh strawberries and a combination of President French cream and pastry cream, which is made from vanilla seeds grown in Madagascar. Biting into the alluring silky texture of the sponge cake and crisp pastry releases the sensual flavours of strawberries and vanilla cream onto the tongue.
The Strawberry Roll is also perfect for parties and family gatherings, and diners frequently leave The Lobby and head straight to The Peninsula Boutique to buy some to take home. Guests seeking the perfect gift for their loved ones will also be enamoured by The Peninsula Shanghai Deutz Champagne Gift Set, which includes a bottle of Deutz Champagne (750ml) with two handmade crystal Champagne flutes and 11 complimentary roses.
