Longtime SoHo staple boutique Kirna Zabête has in the past 14 years built up both its brand and its customer base to become today one of the city’s most well-known and reliable sources for right-now fashion from a line-up of both up-and-coming and big hitter contemporary designers.
Ahead of its 15th anniversary, KZ announced last year that it would be moving a few blocks away to an even bigger space in the neighbourhood, with a punched up inventory of (not for long) obscure names, hand-selected after they caught the gimlet eye of founders Beth Buccini and Sarah Easley.
Opened earlier this month in a brand new, 10,000 sq ft space on Broome Street, the revamped KZ makes clear its style motto as soon as you set foot inside: written on the walls are motivational quotations like “Life is short, buy more shoes”.
Beyond that, the fuschia columns, red counter, and extensive selection of stock will transport you straight to girly shopping heaven. Already counting among its designers names like Christopher Kane, Prabal Gurung, and Victoria Beckham, the shop launch introduces 27 new designers to the shelves, with covetable finds like Paris-based Yazbukey’s bags, and fur accessories from New York’s own Adrienne Landau. The summer’s hottest opening yet!
