Girl About Town
It started out as a glossy for teens, and baby sister to ELLE magazine, but these days ELLEgirl also devotes its talents to a fashion label that has proved so popular with the up-and-coming style mavens of Manila, they have launched three stores in quick succession, with their latest addition at the Shangri-La Plaza geared towards young women rather than girls.
And with a new range that has been carefully selected to suit the climate and style of its resident city, the label has also unveiled its local ambassadors “The Elle Girls”, among them aspiring designer Camille Co and runway model Jessica Yang.
Though a little more grown up, the new ELLEgirl hasn’t abandoned her playful edge altogether, with an emphasis still on flirty chiffon frocks and cotton eyelet shorts courtesy of the Jardin line, cute pencil skirts in rainbow colours and breezy patterned tees from the Tropical range.
But for the more mature and fashion au fait, the label has launched a slinkier collection, with highlights including the Abez midnight blue platform shoes, the figure-hugging LBD in sleek satin, and a range of retro-inspired monochrome clutches. With such a seamless transition from girly to glam, it comes as no surprise that ELLEgirl has proved a hit with the city’s bloggers, teens and twenty-something fashionistas alike!
