Wan Chai’s Star Street has swiftly made the transition from “up and coming” hub to the de-facto go to for exciting drinking and dining, and if you venture a few minutes further into the constellation of narrow passages you’ll find Moon Street, an otherwise nondescript alley save for the brightly lit sign beckoning from the end of the street. It reads “TED’s Lookout”, and it’s where the charming, Latin-inspired café and bar has made its home since officially opening in January.
With only 20 seats strewn about the intimate interior, TED’s sees the regular after-work crowd spilling out onto the streets, all with a signature cocktail or glass of wine in hand.
Following the Latin American theme, classic cocktails like the Pisco Sour, Old Cuban, and Kaffir Collins await, while the food menu offers a taco platter with beef carnitas and spicy fish tacos, signature buffalo wing lollipops, and daily changing international dishes from mushroom risotto to roast beef dip sandwiches to New England clam chowder.
The happy hour gathering is rivalled by the Sunday brunch set, and it’s easy to see why: from noon to 5pm, a free flow Bloody Mary bar offers customisable concoctions of the spicy drink. More Tabasco? Right, says Ted!
