The Tavern That Rocked
Stone Nullah Tavern
With successful outings Linguini Fini, Posto Pubblico and Pizzeria Pubblico already to their name, not to mention organic produce company Homegrown Foods, the IMH restaurant group certainly knows a thing or two about what tastes good. So when they announced the April opening of their latest offering, Stone Nullah Tavern, on Wan Chai’s iconic Stone Nullah Lane, expectations were understandably high.
Riding the cresting wave that is the district’s emerging on-trend dining scene, and eschewing the Italian inflection of its sibling establishments, SNT brings new American comfort cuisine into focus, and in the process lives up to the hype with a hip nonchalance.
With a retro shophouse bar frontage and intimate, woody dining room, SNT could’ve been plucked straight from a downtown NYC street. The state-side tribute continues on chef Vinny Lauria’s menu, where market-fresh, quality ingredients drive seasonal small plates that include crispy pig’s head with lobster salad, chicken fried tenderloin, beef and foie gras burgers, and clams with tripe fries.
Be sure to save room for the Fat Kid Cake, a layered masterpiece of red velvet, cheesecake, crème brulée and chocolate mousse, and pair your meal with Francis Ford Coppola’s Inglenook Cabernet Sauvignon or a signature cocktail. Add in the fab service for which the group is known, and, what can we say, Stone Nullah rocks!
