The skin is the body’s largest organ, so before you pat yourself on the back for cutting out refined sugar or processed nasties in your diet, take a moment to consider what you are ingesting topically without even realising it. Worried? Well you needn’t be any longer with the arrival of Hong Kong’s newest and most eco name in cleansing, So…Soap!
In just two short years, founder Bella Ip Chi-kiu has proven entrepreneurship can be both profitable and socially responsible with the runaway success of her community-based, 100% organic So…Soap! product line. Her locally-made, all-natural cleansers comprise dermis-loving ingredients like saponified plant-based oils, essential oils, and magnetised non-filtered water, and the by-hand development process allows naturally occurring glycerin to remain in the mix, so there’s no need to add synthesised moisturisers later.
But the eco-friendliness doesn’t stop there, with the Tea Tree hand soap and both Lavender and Orange Ginger body formulations packaged in recycled polypropylene plastic bottles which customers can return for thorough sterilisation and reuse. And if that wasn’t enough to get you feeling warm and fuzzy, So…Soap! is upskilling largely uneducated female staff to become artisan soap makers firstly in Tai Po, with a view to expand to other districts in Hong Kong. Clean, green and on the scene.
