Scents and Scents-ability
'Prolific' is definitely one word that springs to mind when considering the work of designer Margot Elena. With a CV that features products developed not only for leviathan brands like Restoration Hardware and Disney, she also has found time to create her own successful perfume and bath lines like Archive, TokyoMilk and Love & Toast, as well as the unflinchingly feminine Lollia.
And not content with only perfumes and skincare, the expanded Lollia range also encompasses mohair throws, lacy camisoles, chemises, shorts and even duvet covers along with a ‘boutiquerie’ of no less than 20 scented soy wax candles with names like Sunspots on a Photograph No.2 (mandarin, yuzu and amber) and Stacks of Pretty Paper (white lily, paper pulp and sheer musk).
At the fragrance end of the spectrum you can luxuriate in a miasmic cloud of At Last - a light floral ‘celebration’ of powdery rice flower paired with magnolias and mimosa, surrender to the romance of In Love’s delicate infusions of apple blossom, jasmine, and rose, or breathe in a burst of, well, Breathe with its peony, white lily, and tingly top notes of grapefruit and orange. With everything from bubble-bath to shea butter moisturisers, sea salt sachets and shower gels, you’ve got zero chance of coming out of the brand new flagship Hong Kong store not smelling sweetly.
