Sam Goes Global
If counting Hollywood celebrities like Elle Macpherson and Hilary Swank among your fans is an indication of success, then SAMBAG sure has come a long way.
From humble beginnings selling her leather handbags in Sydney’s Paddington Markets, Australian designer Sam Wagner, bolstered by her products’ instant popularity in the local bazaar, soon expanded her repertoire to include the gorgeous flat pumps for which she became renowned, followed by a range of clothing and sleepwear, and now an overseas flagship in Hong Kong.
With the ribbon officially cut on her store in the vibrant Sheung Wan district, Wagner’s beautiful way with design is evident in the minimalist decor, with the robin’s egg-blue façade giving way to chic hardwood floors and pale cream walls within. Offering a taste of everyday luxury, her new collection features soft leather shoulder bags in taupe and navy, and metallic Lainey totes with glitzy silver and gold flats to match.
Other footwear includes vibrant cork-heeled strappy wedges, and the extensive range of ballet flats like the colourful Belindas, satin Tinas, distressed leather Indys and snakeskin Julies. As for apparel, the small but stylish collection comprises tunic dresses and cashmere jumpers, with a summery selection of sunglasses and swimwear soon arriving in-store. And to send you into even more of a fashion frenzy, Peninsula guests get 10% off. You’re welcome, darlings!
