Rigby & Peller
For over 30 years British lingerie specialist June Kenton has been a woman on a mission. And you can understand why, when you consider that 80% of the woman crossing the threshold at fabled London Royal Warrant corsetiere Rigby & Peller, are wearing the wrong size bra. 80%! That’s a lot of ill-fitting bras, sore backs, pinched shoulders and worse.
And even though Kenton sold the firm to lingerie giant Van de Velde in 2011, she remains on the board of directors, where her passion has seen R&P become the UK’s leading brand in lingerie styling (or bra-fitting, to the uninitiated).
Since its beginnings in 1939 when corsetiere Gita Peller and her landlady Bertha Rigby first set up shop making bespoke lingerie, to becoming the official foundation garment maker and supplier to celebrities and multiple members of the British Royal Family (including her Majesty and the late Princess of Wales), Rigby & Peller has successfully emerged as the specialists in fitted RTW.
Now, for the first time, R&P arrives in Hong Kong with not one, but two standalone stores, a complete range of luxury labels like Aubade, Marie Jo, PrimaDonna and Sarda by Andres Sarda, and most importantly of all, their signature fitting room. Bearing in mind that R&P’s stylists recommend that women are fitted at least every six months, you may well be paying several visits.
