A Little Italian Goes A Long Way
Mini Dans La Ville
They say that good things come in small packages, and this is especially true at Sheung Wan’s Mini Dans La Ville, the recently opened Bonham Strand café with a penchant for tiny, punch-packing inspirations – Mini Coopers and fabulous cups of coffee to be precise.
Fitting smartly into the area’s now ubiquitous artisanal food, beverage and shopping zeitgeist, Mini Dans La Ville aims to bring the best of Italy Fragrant Harbour-side, with slow-roasted Trucillo beans in the cups, espresso machines by DeLonghi on the shelves and a Mk1 Austin Mini Cooper S (made famous in the movie The Italian Job) parked front and centre, just because.
With concrete and pale wood floors, blackboard art and exposed bricks, the casual décor has a stylish European air, and the solid menu certainly offers flavours to match, with pastas, sandwiches, oysters, mussels and all-day breakfast available alongside juices, smoothies, pastries and an extensive coffee menu designed by Jonathan Bruno Koo, founder of the Hong Kong Barista Association.
With his expertise and fellow barista training, and only the ripest beans used to produce Trucillo’s full-bodied and intensely aromatic coffee bean blend, we’d go as far as to say this is one of the city’s better cups. Mini name, mega flavour!
