Going Ballistic in Admiralty
AMMO, the new restaurant located in Admiralty’s Asia Society Hong Kong Center, is certainly not your average museum café. Its name is not only an allusion to the centre’s heritage as a former army explosives magazine compound, but also an acronym for “Asia, Modern, Museum and Original”, its keywords as the culinary face of this not for profit cross-cultural organisation devoted to the understanding and furthering of Asian cultures.
Featuring a futuristic, super-modern interior of glass walls, high tables and green banquettes with studded cushions, all conceptualised and designed by Joyce Wang and local celebrity chef and restaurateur Tony Cheung, AMMO is as much an explosion for the eyes as for the taste buds.
Chef Roland Schuller’s Asian-Mediterranean menu features an all-star, comfort classic ingredients line-up including burrata ravioli with Peking Duck ragout, and divine Pata Negra ham croquettes, as well as 30 wines by the glass, and cocktails like the AMMO Extraordinary – a punchy combo of vodka, pear, Yakult, pineapple juice and Blue Curacao.
The café serves an all-day menu from 11:30 am until 9:00 pm with three-course set lunches, tapas at cocktail hour, and full dinner service, and if time allows, be sure to take a twirl around the pretty Asia Society gardens afterwards.
