Not So Common Cocktails
Having already brought Hong Kong the likes of Prive, Levels, and Masu Robatayaki & Sushi, the Prive Group now takes over the Lan Kwai Fong space formerly occupied by Casa to bring us Common Room, an in fact far-from-common, super-suave gastropub proving a hit with the city’s see and be scene set.
The centerpiece of the 4,000 sq ft space is a 31ft, wrought iron and stainless steel long bar, warmly lit by hanging exposed bulbs, and lined at the rear with a premium ‘liquor library’. Small, high and wooden communal tables make up the non-bar seating options, while an outdoor terrace offers the perfect perch for under-the-stars sips.
Speaking of cocktails, movie and music buffs will enjoy sampling the molecular libation interpretations of some of their favourite hits, like the pretty pink and frothy, vodka, lychee liquor, lemon, pressed rose petal and egg white extravaganza ‘Kiss From A Rose’. The menu references all corners of the globe and food chain with Land, Sea, Earth and Heaven-inspired dishes including Tandoori octopus with fresh raita, classic crumbed mac n’ cheese, Wagyu foie gras burgers, and cryo-fried vanilla ice-cream with vanilla brandy to finish. Common? Pah!
