Where The Stars Are
When Matt Hermer, founder of London’s hottest nightclub Boujis, announced he was bringing his world-famous nightclub brand to Hong Kong, to say the buzz crescendoed to a frenzy would be an understatement.
With an A-list clientele of starlets, royals and sports gods, and a regular Saturday night role call reading more like a Hello Magazine cover, the original London nightspot has consistently found itself at the top of ‘best clubs in the world’ polls since its 2002 opening. Some 10 years later the brand is still peaking, with a presence in the South of France and Ibiza, and now the second permanent branded location launched in Hong Kong.
Given the formula has already proved a winning one, a similarly exclusive and strict members-only policy applies in Hong Kong, with the discreet ‘what happens behind closed doors, stays behind closed doors’ mantra remaining paramount. Glossy pale timber and regal cobalt blue furnishings fill the sophisticated space, and some of the world’s best DJs spin everything from house and nu-disco to electro and funk through a state-of-the-art Void Acoustics sound system.
So if security is tight and the velvet rope even tighter, how does a non-member get in? The answer is, stay at the Peninsula Hong Kong, and arrange VIP entry via the concierge for a daily or weekly rate of HKD250 and 750 respectively. We’ll cheers to that!
