Bistronomique Boulangerie & Boucherie
You’d (almost) be forgiven for thinking you’d stepped into a Parisian arrondissement when chancing upon Kennedy Town’s Davis Street now that successful French eatery Bistronomique is flanked by no less than two Gallic sister establishments. On the one side sits café-bakery Bistronomique Boulangerie, from which wafts aromas of fresh-baked baguettes, buttery croissants, melt-in-the-mouth pain au chocolate, and boasting window displays of their divinely rich dark chocolate-glazed sponge layered with praline mousse, and their vanilla mascarpone millefeuilles garnished with seasonal fruits.
On the other side is no ordinary butcher – Bistronomique Boucherie stocks fresh cuts selected by Hugo Desnoyer (boucher to Paris’ Michelin-starred chefs at L'Ambroisie, L'Arpège and Jamin), such as limousin rib, French veal, Australian dry-aged rump and saltbush lamb rack, Bresse Miéral chicken or pigeon, and saucisson from the Basque region.
You can also find out how Hugo likes his steak done with in-house cooking and recipe recommendations, along with helpful wine pairings with their featured cheeses including roquefort, comté and a rather sinful truffle brie. Also crafted in-house are the foie gras confit, fennel & garlic sausages, and fresh-spun pasta like agnolotti stuffed with beef daube. And here we have it, from hors d’oeuvres to dessert, the makings of a fabulous French meal – bon appetit!
