The Peninsula Academy is launching a series of new Cultural Experience programmes for guests to enrich their vacation or business trip to Hong Kong. Art of Hospitality
The Peninsula Academy celebrates the meteoric rise of Hong Kong’s art scene with The Art of Hospitality
, an inspiring programme that introduces guests to artists and their work, as well as providing art experts to guide visitors through the city’s new-found urban aesthetic, its leading galleries, colonial history and Chinese roots. After a carefully curated tour of leading galleries, a visit to the Asia Art Archive and a trip to Kowloon’s To Kwa Wan art village, guests return to the hotel for a private viewing of The Peninsula’s own Miró and Manet followed by a special dinner at the Phillipe Starck-designed Felix. We have curated staff recommendations from the book in order to create special itineraries for guests to explore Hong Kong from a whole new perspective.
- Our Hong Kong in Nature
Retreat from the hustle and bustle of the city and travel up the slopes of Tai Mo Shan, the highest mountain in Hong Kong, to an authentic tea house in a rural setting, which serves tea brewed from mountain water. Here, guests can mingle with local villagers before strolling by pristine watercress fields and scenic hiking paths, escorted by a personal guide towards The Yuen Yuen Institute, a Taoist temple built in the 1950s.
- Our Hong Kong in History
Travel with a personal guide to the ancestral home of the Tang clan, which dates back to the 13th century. The tour continues along the historical trail leading to Lung Yeuk Tau, which translates as “Where the Dragon Leaps”, and is the village where the eldest son of a Princess of the Sung dynasty and her Tang-descendant husband lived. The excursion ends with a scenic drive along Bride’s Pool Road, a popular route for local bikers and motoring enthusiasts at the weekend.
Tours are offered at HK$ 2,500 per person (subject to 10% service charge) for a minimum of two people and a maximum of four people.
