Thomas + Henry
Following the success of their Andersonville home furnishing store Room Service, co-owners Jim Jostes and Paul Lechlinsky have turned their gimlet eye from the big picture to the small details, with the December opening of their new Old Town boutique and apothecary Thomas + Henry. Focusing on what they call ‘luxury curiosities’, T+H stocks a curated selection of new and vintage home accessories, and plans to expand into salon services with the launch of a tiny in-store hair salon next month. In partnership with Swedish hair care line Sachajuan, the salon will see 15-year hairdressing veteran Jostes himself at the helm, wielding the scissors during one-on-one consultations.
The store abounds with quirk and charm, from the blue floors and exposed wooden beams to the deer antler décor, and it’s no surprise that T+H is all about interiors that inspire. Each of the products you find on the shelves is meticulously sourced, and falls either under the ‘cultural gifts’ or ‘apothecary’ category. In one corner there are handcrafted soy candles from Brooklyn’s Apotheke and sustainable soaps from Further, while elsewhere there is vintage barware and 60s pottery alongside Newgate clocks from the UK and colourful chairs by Pantone. Getting our shopping done from the salon chair – now that’s what we call pampering!
