High-End Beauty Mecca
Space NK Apothecary
Elite facialist Tracie Martyn, manicurist to the stars Jin Soon, and geisha-certified TATCHA are but a few among the roster of crème de la crème labels available at Chicago’s newest beauty sanctuary, Space NK Apothecary. The London-based brand, which first opened in Covent Garden in 1993 and now boasts more than 60 stores in the UK, has already taken America’s east and west coasts with flagships in New York and LA, but officially made its first foray into the Midwest this month with a shiny new shop-in-shop at Michigan Ave’s Bloomingdale’s.
Skincare and make-up junkies will likely find this brightly-lit, wood-floored and white-shelved space the closest Chicago gets to a beauty mecca, with its 40+ brands offering only the best in terms of innovation and pure luxury. Cherry-picked from founder Nicky Kinnaird’s global team, the curated selection features both renowned brands as well as the still-obscure. On Chicago shelves you’ll find facialist Eve Lom’s iconic balm cleanser, celebrated by skincare experts as one of the most purifying rituals with its muslin cloth application, and Karlie Kloss-endorsed organic makeup brand RMS Beauty, alongside luxury household labels like Frederic Fekkai, Caudalie, and Diptyque. Beeline to Bloomie’s!
