George Zaharoff Flagship
Chicago’s East Oak Street is the city’s quintessential big ticket label destination with Barneys New York and Prada rubbing stylish shoulders with Hermès, Moncler, Graff and Louboutin. It’s therefore more than fitting that George Zaharoff should choose the strip as the home for his flagship emporium of men’s luxury tailoring and accessories. November 2012 saw the doors open on the 3-floor, 6,000 square feet Jordan Mozer & Associates-designed salon which rather handily incorporates the Marilyn Miglin Institute of skincare.
Inside the light and airy emporium with its sweeping staircase and 6-foot stone bas-reliefs of archangels Michael and Gabriel, is the full range of Zaharoff tailoring from suits and blazers to sports jackets, trousers and shirts, utilising English silks and fabrics sourced from all over the world from Florence to Cape Town. The burgeoning selection of accessories like cashmere and bouclé scarves, debossed leather iPad covers and rhodium-plated cufflinks, all feature the signature Zaharoff American style that fuses classic design with a modern twist to silhouette and colour. Add to this the woody, oriental house fragrance Zaharoff Pour Homme and you’ve got a top to toe one-stop, but you may not have to wait long for competition... rumour has it a Mr. T. Ford will be opening his new boutique on East Oak Street in Fall 2013. George, meet Tom.
