Artisan Market Gets A New Home
Galleria in Evanston
Remember when the brains behind Chicago’s ever-popular artisan collective Andersonville Galleria held twice-weekly holiday pop-ups in nearby Evanston these past two Decembers? Well such a success did those fleeting outings prove, that the company finally saw fit to erect a very welcomed permanent brick-and-mortar locale for the Galleria In Evanston, which opened in April and hosts around 40 local vendors offering goods spanning everything from art and photography, handmade jewellery, apparel and accessories, to bath and body products, homeware, candles and gourmet and fair trade foods.
In a bright, airy and simply fitted-out shop space on Sherman Avenue, colourful, attention-grabbing goods beckon from every nook, cranny and patch of whitewashed wall, including silk earrings, brooches and pins by Balance Lady Designs, beads, bracelets and decorative wine-stoppers by Kimberly Polka, Studio Chris’ vibrant, neighbourhood-inspired art prints, and edgy, urban tops by Transit Tees. Malia Design bags, The Glass Station’s up-cycled glassware, and Danilo Cuevas’s hand-painted note cards and mini canvases are perfect for gifting yourself or a loved one. And before you leave, be sure to pick up some Das Foods condiments and French Salted Caramel, plus a bag of Terry’s Toffee to take home. Sweet!
