Luxury Italian Menswear
The iconic maker of luxury Italian suits has, since humble beginnings more than a century ago in Trivero, Italy, taken the menswear world by storm: this summer saw openings of Ermenegildo Zegna in cities from Kuwait to London to Doha, as well as the newly re-opened EZ on Chicago’s Magnificent Mile following a five-month remodel. Though always an elegant men’s emporium, the two-floor Michigan Avenue flagship now even more closely resembles a gentlemen’s den, with a second floor outfitted in contemporary art, leather armchairs, and even a fireplace.
The brand famously offers everything necessary to outfit the modern dandy from head to toe – accessories from scarves to sunglasses, belts, bags and shoes; RTW from outerwear to underwear; even personal care and fragrance. From the F/W 13 collection new cashmere and silk blends feature, including the ‘Spazzolino’ fabric, and the colour palette speaks to autumn with varying shades of grey. Beyond the season, the future looks bright for the classical brand: the June appointment of designer Stefano Pilati to creative director saw a widely-lauded debut S/S 14 collection, and this autumn too sees the launch of the EZ Personalization Project, which will meet the additional needs of discerning gentlemen who prefer to choose their own fabrics and finishing touches. Bespoke tailoring, just like in Trivero 1910.
