Chicago gents must surely be some of the best dressed in the world, what with the recent openings of Brioni, Neiman Marcus Man’s Store, George Zoharoff, and LUXE favourite Gallery Aesthete, to name just a few of the dandiest style destinations sweeping the Windy City. It seems there’s no stopping the transformation of local laymen into suave metro gods, and further fuelling this burgeoning citywide trend is the arrival of the Gold Coast’s new Savile Row-style showroom, Frederick Lynn Haberdasshere.
In a glamorous, yet ultra-comfortable and welcoming 2,200 sq ft space of warm wood, leather and immaculately arranged samples, proprietor Aaron Comes leads clients through his staggering selection of more than 10,000 fabrics while discussing their wardrobe requirements and expertly measuring them for a razor sharp fit. Customers can choose from machine-finished, hand-finished, and fully handmade garments (from suits and shirts to blazers and formalwear) constructed in one of their factories around the world, plus there’s a slew of handsome accessories like Italy’s Dolcepunta ties and London’s sought-after Sterling + Burke bags. And with news of childrenswear launching this year, it seems FL-H will ensure Chicago tots can claim the ‘best dressed’ title too!
