KIN Bel Air
WeHo fashionistas will already be very familiar with the name KIN. Since 2004 the Sunset Boulevard boutique has been mainlining the men’s and women’s apparel, accessories, beauty and homeware of everyone from Acne and Equipment, to Helmut and Vivienne, to style addicts across town. After almost 10 years of impeccable stock curation by owner Darrel Adams, the launch of an online store and must-read style blog, KIN has finally given the crowd what it’s been hanging for – a sophomore outpost in the heart of glam Bel Air.
The urban-centric fit-out of polished concrete, warm salvaged woods and black chain link fencing reflects the store’s gritty edge, as does the array of talent lining the shelves. Of-the-moment essentials including Alexander Wang’s eponymous ‘T by’ line, Elizabeth & James separates, Mara Hoffman swimwear, Pamela Love jewellery and Opening Ceremony eyewear jostle for attention, while the recently launched in-house lines KIN Los Angeles and The Relatives keep the guys looking LA-cool in statement graphic tees and tanks all 100% locally made. Lose your head with Louise Green and Albert Swanepoel hats, throw a Want Les Essentiels De La Vie knapsack over your shoulder and, go on, treat yourself to that Soap & Paper Factory candle and those Blithe & Bonny lavender bath salts while you're at it. KINdred spirits!
