A Family Affair
Olive & June
Having been long-time fans of uber-trendy LA boutique TENOVERSIX, we were intrigued and overjoyed to learn co-owners Kristen Lee Cole and Brady Cunningham had been recruited to design the city’s newest and sweetest nail salon, Olive & June in Beverly Hills.
Upon opening just last month, O&J’s TENOVERSIX influence was immediately apparent, with the laid back, cream and pale wood fitout instantly striking both a stylish and comfortable chord reminiscent of the fashionable Melrose Avenue store.
Named for owner Sarah Gibson Tuttle’s great grandmother and grandmother, the pretty Canyon Drive space was born of Tuttle’s trying and failing to find a fantastic and pamper-some mani/pedi that wasn’t ridiculously high end or depressingly low.
Inspired to fill the gap in the market, Tuttle took further cues from her family, naming her gorgeous treatments after them too.
Aside from the deluxe ‘Olive’ mani/pedi, there’s the organic ‘Margot’ variation using local, eco-friendly products, the specially-designed ‘Emma’ for mothers-to-be and featuring pregnancy-safe products and techniques, the nourishing, natural-look ‘Dree’ therapy, and the playful bespoke ‘Joss’ nail art treatment, where your imagination is the limit. And with rush services and extended massages available for when you’re in a hurry or blissfully time-abundant respectively, O&J nails the go-with-the-flow California MO for every Golden State sister no matter their schedule.
