From the gents behind Bootsy Bellows, comes LA’s newest hotspot dapper WeHo nightclub Hooray Henry’s (translation: affectionate term for a lively but ineffectual upper-class British fellow). Think riotous party at an English country manor with accents of 1960s Mod and country pub – the space is lined with dotty paraphernalia, retro-inspired walnut panelling, tartan carpet, crown molding, a wooden parquet dance floor and a wealth of mirrors.
Manning the door is the ‘Queen’s Guard’ sporting vaguely preposterous black bearskin hats and maintaining straight faces with a steely determination, meanwhile serving up drinks are naughtily dressed girls in knee-high socks, ruffled shirts and bow ties. Their select list of cocktails includes Royal Fashion (Bulleit Bourbon, brown sugar, angostura bitters, and orange zest), and The East End (silver tequila, lime, pineapple juice, habanero syrup, and a chili salt rim), while those lucky enough to snag one of the Rolls-Royce-inspired leather banquettes can partake in the bottle service complete with enormous ice-filled brass buckets on tables piled high with dainty tea cakes. For the very very important there will also be a ‘VIP VIP’ room located on the second floor and modelled after a luxury London hotel suite. Hooray for Henry!
