Organ-ique, C'est Chic!
FEED Body & Soul
Gone are the days when organic ingredients and menus were only to be found at vegan cafes and health-food stores. Thanks to the emergence of a global trend towards whole and locally-farmed produce, there’s been a welcome rise in the number of eateries for whom sourcing is paramount.
Now proving that organic food is not only tasty, but sexy too, LA’s FEED Body & Soul seemingly takes its inspiration from smart NYC-style lofts, with Italian marble-topped counters, tufted leather banquettes and hand-painted Sanskrit wall motifs (created by CRYPTIK) jazzing up in what is otherwise a sleek, monochrome offering by designer DeeAnna Staats.
The backdrop might be understated, but it certainly allows chef Matthew Dickinson’s all-organic creations to take centre stage. His menus rely heavily on the presence of a Rotisol French Rotisserie in the kitchen, the roasted fruits of which, including chicken, salmon, Albacore tuna and bison, feature on the lunch and dinner menus along with farmers market soups and salads, house-made spreads and pickled vegetables, and vegan and gluten-free desserts like chocolate pound cake served with cashew crème. Breakfast offers seasonal hot and cold acai, granola and oat bowls, while the Marcos Tello-designed beverage program includes organic sodas, wines and cocktails such as the seasonal special Spring Awakening, a zesty blend of Guayusa tea-infused Kappa Pisco, Imbue Vermouth and local honey. Organ-ique!
