Since its grand debut featuring the latest collection of Spanish label Custo Barcelona in November, Couture has been the word rolling off the lips of LA’s most fashionable party-goers. A ‘concept club’ emanating Hollywood glitz, Couture wears many hats – nightclub, catwalk, and restaurant the focal points among them – and packs into its all-purpose, 3,800 sq ft space a dance floor featuring a runway down the centre, intimate lounge booths and bar, plus a club café and patio.
Following the much-hyped black and white party Maxim Magazine held on New Year’s Eve, the (VIP and pretty people-centric) club opened to the public in January, so be sure to dress to kill for a chance to hear the house music beyond the velvet rope. Once inside, you’ll find it more reminiscent of a designer store throwing a bash than a club hosting a fashion show – there are shoppable display cases on the walls and behind the bar, so far including Swiss-made watches, silk scarves, and the Los Angeles requisite of designer sunglasses.
In the way of food, the club is pending a full All-American menu, but in the meantime you can order light bites including Wagyu filet mignon skewers and prosciutto wrapped melon, although in the presence of so many models you may find your appetite rather diminished. Ah, well, bartender, we’ll just have a champagne cocktail and a pair of shades, please!
