Chinese Home Design
China may have firmly established its reputation as a global manufacturing and sourcing hub in recent years, but there’s one Mainland-born furniture brand that’s seeking to put Chinese design squarely on the international map too. Launched in 2005, luxury furniture label Camerich has been expanding at lightning speed, with more than 100 stores now operating across China, and a presence in 60+ countries worldwide. The latest target city? None other than Los Angeles, where the brand’s hotly anticipated new flagship debuted this past July.
In the sprawling West Hollywood space, the brand’s ultra-sleek, contemporary lines and a luxurious aesthetic are ever-present, as are the famously accessible price points. A largely muted-hued cache of sofas and chairs, beds, tables, desks and cabinets are offset by bright bursts of colour – orange, teal and aubergine being this season’s standout tones. Rich textural finishes and contrasting materials are also a key part of the Camerich design philosophy – the Jane Sectional sofa pairing warm fabric upholstery with optional built-in leather side and back tables, and Stilts cabinets combining tobacco walnut and camel lacquer accents. Add in a neat selection of European home accessories hand-sourced by owners Michael Lin and Stephen Bianchi, and we’ve a sneaking suspicion Camerich might just be your next one-stop home shop.
