From the pop cultural minds of interior stylists Andy ‘A’ Griffith and Rose ‘R’ Apodaca, a second, larger outpost of
the Venice-based whimsical design emporium A+R is now open in West Hollywood.
Building on the aesthetic of the original, the new shop is a high-ceilinged, cement-floored and thoroughly white-washed space punctuated with the rainbow of colours from products lining the shelves and scattered on the floor. With a painted black rocking chair here, a series of neon hanging lights there, and tot toys arranged on low tables, it’s easy to see why A+R is a stylish staple for funky, affordable home and lifestyle wares.
With eclectic inventory personally sourced by the globe-roaming husband and wife team, product selection is as worldly as it is wide: Les Perles candleholders from French brand Y’a Pas Le Feu Au Lac, unique Domsai terrariums from Northern Italian Matteo Cibic, and sculptural Bau pendant lights from Danish design firm Normann Copenhagen are among many other international top-sellers.
From clocks to carafes, upholstered furniture to storage units, and bright lights to baubles; whatever stocking stuffer, quirky gift or home-enhancing ware you are after, it’s a sure bet that A+R have scoured the market for a unique selection to display here.
